How To Make A Unique Baby Gift Basket
If you’ve looked online or in the stores to find a specialty baby gift basket, you probably discovered that they are expensive! Though not unique, these baby gift baskets that are already made are often much more than the cost of all the items inside and the basket. Of course, you’re paying for someone to put them all together and mail them to you – but can’t you do the “putting together” yourself? And, rather than mail it anywhere, how about taking it to the shower yourself and handing it to the mother-to-be?
You can make a baby gift basket that is uniquely suited to the mother and baby that the gift is designed for. It’s not hard – these simple steps will help you.
Decide What You Want To Give
Maybe your unique baby gift basket will have a theme – clothes? Bath? Toys? If you have a theme, the items should go along with the theme – or be related to it in some way. A bath baby gift basket could contain bath soap for baby, a face cloth, some baby lotion, and maybe even a cozy sleeper for after the bath! You might even sneak in a bath item or two for mama – a pampering bath for her while her babe is sleeping would be a great way to pamper the new mama.
Get A Basket
You might already have a basket for your unique baby gift. Maybe you already have one at home – in the garage, perhaps? Or maybe you’ve seen one at a local store that you could go pick up for your unique baby gift basket.
If not, go check a local home goods store. Many of them sell baskets, and they’re usually not too expensive.
Be sure your basket isn’t too small – you want the items to fit nicely, not too crowded. If crowding is an issue, you’ll need a larger basket. It would be a shame to have to leave out any of the special items you’ve hand picked for your unique baby gift basket. If there is no other option, then perhaps you can wrap one or two of the items separately, and have the basket with them to be opened together.
If the basket is too large – no problem! Add in another filler item or two – maybe a baby towel or some diapers – and it should be just right. And what mother wouldn’t love more diapers, (whether cloth or disposable)? Diapers covers are also a great add-on to a unique baby gift basket, so consider them. They come in so many patterns and styles.
